&lt;p dir=&quot;ltr&quot;&gt;&lt;span&gt;It is said that on route home after a night’s drinking, Yrrak the Vile, once king of the orks, encountered Malaut and tricked him into climbing a nearby harvesting tree.  The cunning Yrrak etched the sign of Auros into the bark, thus trapping the demon Malaut.  The wily but inebriated Yrrak then struck a bargain with the currently treed and highly irate lord of the twilight kingdom ensuring his soul would never be claimed by the dread realm.  As every good Ork with a get out of hell, free card, Yrrak then led a grand life of sin, drink, and mendacity, thus being refused entry to the eternal halls upon his death.  Gleefully keeping his promise, Malaut also refuses to let Yrrak into the Twilight Kingdom and throws a surging fireball born of the fires of hell at him.  Feeling the cold of undeath and limbo settling in his limbs, Yrrak snagged the fiery spell and placed the burning ember into a hollowed out turnip to stop it from going out. Ever since, Yrrak and his flickering lantern have been roaming the dark lands, looking for a place to drown their sorrows.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;The following update is probably the largest in scope and importance to ever hit the Darkfall servers and addresses many of its current issues. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;The first and foremost is that it provides reasons for players to go out in the world and play the game actively in order to obtain upgraded items that will give them an edge in combat as well as character progression.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;The second, and equally important, is to give meaning to *Full loot* again. Yielding a high level item should make you tremble in excitement when you use it, hurt you when you lose it, and exhilarate you when you find it on someone&#039;s dead body. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;It addresses the issue of people having “full banks” filled with either resources, gear, or both.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;It levels the playing field between old characters and newer characters, especially between those who managed to accumulate wealth from frowned-upon methods, and the hard-working “savers”. Older characters will still have a small starting advantage but those who start playing the game more actively can catch up within days. From a game economy’s perspective, there cannot be a greater time to return to Darkfall than this *&lt;span style=&quot;color: #ff8c00;&quot;&gt;&lt;strong&gt;economy restart/gold rush&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;* update.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;It addresses localization to a great extent. Rare materials will no longer be gained from anywhere in the world but from &lt;span style=&quot;color: #ff8c00;&quot;&gt;&lt;strong&gt;specific locations&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt; that are expected to be&lt;span style=&quot;color: #ff8c00;&quot;&gt;&lt;strong&gt;heavily contested&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt; and fought over. We are trying to achieve &lt;span style=&quot;color: #ff8c00;&quot;&gt;&lt;strong&gt;conflict through resource inequality&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;. Player Holdings will play a huge role in this and the value of owning one or more will become crucial. Player House value has also increased.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;It addresses the complicated recipes required to craft everything.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;It makes the environment more dangerous and the PvE encounters quicker but much harder.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;It speeds up instant travel which will result in finding fights faster.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;It introduces the new inventory system, aimed to improve the QoL of all players, and makes inventory operations faster and more intuitive.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;It addresses character advancement through prowess as well as the acquisition of Dominion required by clans to have fun.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Now for the specifics&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;Essentially we are introducing a new layer of economy above the existing one, i.e. a ‘soft wipe’&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: medium;&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;color: green;&quot;&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Gear Changes&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;All current weapons and armor are now called “Aged”. All aged armors have 4 less in protections compared to how they were before. All aged weapons also do 4 less damage than before.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Any new armor that is crafted (or dropped) now has +3 in each protection. New weapons also do +3 damage than before.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;Example:&lt;/em&gt;&lt;span&gt; A player using ‘new’ leenspar armor and weapons vs a player using aged leenspar armor and weapons, will do 7 more damage to him, while receiving 7 less damage than before.(e.g Inflict 30 damage, receive 16 damage)&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;The point is to give players who use the new items a definite, yet not too overpowering, advantage.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

Rare ores can be found in selected locations in the world. &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;color: #ff8c00;&quot;&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;text-decoration: underline;&quot;&gt;Only 8 cities in the world will have a chance to produce Neithal Ore&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;: Sweetwater, Alberworth, Caxtla, Tiquiya, Long March, Aradoth, Kvitstain, Andruk.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;The remaining cities will produce Veilron/Selentine Ore. Note that the cities that drop Theyril Ore, will also drop the other rare materials. Same goes for Leenspar cities, etc.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;We expect this change to increase the value of cities dramatically, and promote conflict, drama, and many dead bodies.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;The 2nd best place to get rare ores is by killing the corresponding &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;color: #ff8c00;&quot;&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Golems&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;, that also follow the localization theme of cities (Theyril in the north, Leenspar in the South).&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;The 3rd best place to get rare ores is by harvesting &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;color: #ff8c00;&quot;&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Supernodes&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;, that follow the same localization theme of Cities and Golems.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

For example Rank8 metal armor requires Leenspar ingots - Not Leenspar &lt;span style=&quot;text-decoration: underline;&quot;&gt;and&lt;/span&gt;Veilron.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Inferior materials, as well as refined rare materials no longer drop from the environment, and are not used for any new recipe. (they can be converted)&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Reagents now can be crafted in bigger bulks (25 up from 4), making it faster for someone to get to action.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Changed recipes to have their cost better distributed across ranks.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Protections across pieces now more properly reflect their crafting cost.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Secondary attributes across pieces now more properly reflect their crafting cost. (Helmet will no longer give more secondary attribute than chest piece etc)&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Leather recipes will now need slightly less leather than before, cotton recipes will require slightly more cotton than before.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;color: #ff8c00;&quot;&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Time to gear:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt; What is expected is players in a typical gaming session to be able to craft 1 set of gear at Selentine/Veilron level, &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;text-decoration: underline;&quot;&gt;&lt;strong&gt;and&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt; have time to spare to test it on some unfortunate victims. If they want to invest more time into their preparing for battle, there are 3 more tiers to do so. The performance of gear is increased linearly, however the price is increased exponentially.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;li&gt;Introduction of clan perks.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Introduction of Leaderboards.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Mount Changes.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Instant travel tweaks.(addition of ports, removal of Chaos Banks)&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;Below you can find the spicy details.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Combat Changes&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A lot of these changes were result of direct feedback from the community as well as several changes that we believe will increase the skill ceiling of the game, as well as making it more fun, without hurting new players.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Ultimate skills:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Spirit Bond : Healing Reduced. Cooldown increased. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Heart of Stone: No longer reflects falling damage. Stat gain slightly reduced.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Static Field: AoE size reduced 1 tier. You will need to be very close to the target.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Barrage: Duration slightly reduced.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Heatstroke: Missile speed increased. Stamina drain increased.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Player Movement&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;All movement and CC abilities are getting removed/nerfed, in order to make positioning more important. We also added more skillful movement in game:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Dash - Removed, and replaced with Begone skill. Begone is a physics spell that pushes your opponents or yourself forward and can be used for creative play.Begone gives a rather horizontal push, and is castable with any weapon and not just staff. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Attunement to Air: Movement speed bonus removed. Magnitude slightly increased. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Heightened reflexes: Movement speed bonus removed. Longer Duration, Faster CD, Stamina bonus added, Spell casting speed bonus added.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Pulverize: Blind duration reduced. Knockback force reduced. Cooldown increased. Damage increased.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Stampede: Movement speed bonus halved. Duration reduced. Cooldown increased. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Frostbite:Movement slow debuff removed. Duration (for the lightning debuff/slow debuff) slightly increased&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Tornado: Knockback force greatly reduced.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Watery Grave: Physics pull removed. Damage increased. Also, while inside Watery Grave, your breath bar becomes 0 (and you take breathing damage IF you are submerged underwater).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Seizure: Range increased by 3 meters, Cooldown reduced by 2 seconds.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Repel: Knockback force reduced. Now a cone instead of 360 aoe.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Pummel: Slow movement debuff removed. Damage slightly increased. Blind duration slightly increased.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Other skills:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Attunement to earth: Duration halved. Now gives 2 stacks down from 3&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Lunge: No longer instant spell - Small casting time added.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Vampiric Strike: Cooldown increased.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Maelstrom: Faster animation (similar to Pulverize). Damage increased.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Roar: Also silences target for 3 seconds.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Thunderbolt: Damage slightly increased.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Caustic bolt: Damage slightly increased. Duration slightly increased (so it&#039;s easier to stack its effect)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Fireball: Damage increased.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Attunement to Fire: Duration moderately reduced.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Soul Flay: Secondary &quot;link&quot; effect removed. Casting time reduced. Debuff timer reduced (ganks faster)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Rescuscitate: Casting time reduced. Debuff timer reduced (revives faster)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Invigoration: Mana net gain greatly increased. Note that this skill is no longer increasing regeneration, but working as a &quot;mana potion&quot; instead.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Bitterstep : Cooldown slightly increased. Sliding effect magnitude slightly reduced.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Foebringer: Aoe Radius reduced by 1 tier.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Bandage: Now heals over time instead of instantly. Magnitude slightly reduced.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Exploit weakness: magnitude increased (No debuffs more than Flurry).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Healing blast: Cooldown increased. Mana cost reduced.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Havoc Blast: Potency increase. (Now similar to the old Stormblast spell)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Performance&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Wall of Righteous Force No longer creates collision that blocks projectiles. Now gives whoever is inside the wall, a &quot;Mana Shield&quot; buff, that can also last slightly after leaving the wall.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Tectonic Shift Is removed from the game. A new skill will take its place in an upcoming patch.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Movement and archery:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Archery missile speed increased, in anticipation of the upcoming player movement tweaks. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Guard Towers&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Guard tower rate of fire halved (they will fire 2 times slower).&lt;br /&gt;Guard tower damage reduced by 10%&lt;br /&gt;(Overall DPS reduced by 55%) &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Hitboxes:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Slight tweaks to hitboxes for when player is on the move in order to lessen the &#039;missed when it should have hit&#039; moments. This is an attempt to partially fix/aleviate the &quot;hitbox issue&quot;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Common skills:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Added Levitate skill (The old Telekenesis spell). Summons a column of air that pushes any characters inside, upwards.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;Each holding will unlock a unique perk, and multiple perks can be used at the same time by the owning clan. We expect holding value to increase after this change, which in turn will drive more conflict especially around the holdings that unlock the most valuable perks.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;There will be some overlap with the relics system and as such clans will be able to offset some of their disadvantage of not owing a specific holding with a relic.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;color: #008000;&quot;&gt;Instant Travel&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;Instant travel makes the world feel less populated since players can and will avoid to their advantage other encounters, or congregate massively and instantly to places of action.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Removing the easily available Summon Friend capacity, as well as rune stones, will increase player movement out in the world, and give more meaning to travelling-faster-on-roads, risk-reward mechanism.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;In the same vein, teleportation will become more expensive and only possible via the stationary portals scattered around the world.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;We will also incur a 30 min teleportation sickness buff so as players cannot abuse portals hoping around Agon if rich enough to do so.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;Attributes that will be changed include health, attack damage, speed and carrying capacity.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Note that for higher mount tiers, for every attribute with increased value, there will be an attribute that will have a lower than average value.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
